Deleted Scene:
Out on the Boat
Savannah, Mya, Zak & Jacob
Mya and I bring the cooler of waters, beers and twisted teas, down to the beach. Jacob and Zak are already on Kayden’s boat getting it ready to go. We had a quick lunch at Yamato’s Sushi and Steak House. Now we are ready for some fun in the sun.
Kayden is working all day and Braxton is out of town for the Houston Texans playoff game this week. So Mya and I are grateful to have Jacob and Zak around to keep us entertained. Walking along the dock, we make our way to Kayden’s speed boat. Which is usually down at his beach house, but since we wanted to use it he brought it to my dock.
“Let me take that cooler and Zak will help you ladies onto the boat.” Jacob says motioning for us to hand him the cooler full of drinks. Taking Zak’s hand I hop down into the boat, with Mya hopping in right behind me. Since Zak is driving, he’ll be the only sober one on the boat I toss him a bottle of water. I grabbed a twisted tea and take a seat at the back of the boat. Mya and Jacob both grabbed a bud light lime and joined me.
“We got lucky! Today is gorgeous!” Excitement pouring from my voice.
“Are we just going to cruise around or you boys going to try and catch something?” Mya asks looking from Zak to Jacob.
Firing up the boat, Zak sits in the driver’s seat looking like a kid in a candy store. Turning the swivel seat to face us, he replied “Well since it’s too cold for tubing or water skiing, we can cruise around, head down by the pier and back. If you ladies don’t mind, we’ll try to catch ourselves some dinner!”
Bouncing up onto my knees, I take a sip of my drink, and smile back at Zak. “Sounds like a plan…just try not to catch Jaws. Last thing we need is to end up on the National Geographic Channel, for Shark Week. As they retell the story of an entire boat of people being attacked by a shark they caught!”
I can’t help but laugh at Mya’s look of complete and utter terror. “We’re not really going to catch a shark right? You’re joking? Because if not, I don’t want to chance it, we can just drive around!” She lets out a nervous laugh, gazing around at us all. Simultaneously we all burst out laughing.
We ended up spending the next two hours riding around on the boat, telling crazy stories about shark encounters we saw on TV, just enjoying each other’s company. Doing absolutely nothing, turned out to be one of the funniest days I’ve had since moving here. Jacob and Zak did fish, but thankfully, they did not caught any sharks.
